Bicycles – Sell it, give it away to a good home or donate it to the Tip Shop at the Council recycling centre on Docks Way. Never pour battery acid down a drain or into a water course. When you buy a new battery for your car you will be paying for recycling of the old battery. Batteries (car) – These are hazardous waste. Try using rechargeable batteries (these have improved greatly in recent years). Most large supermarkets have battery deposit stands. Batteries (Household) – We DO NOT collect these. Asthma inhalers – Most chemists accept used inhalers Audio Cassettes – Not recyclable. Contact Newport City Council for disposal advice. Some forms of herbivore bedding are accepted in the Council garden waste. Please DO NOT put in with the food waste. Aluminium Foil – Red bag (clean foil only – no stuck on food) Animal Waste – we do not collect any form of animal waste. A Adhesives and Glue – Cannot be recycled Aerosols – Red Bag Aluminium Cans – Red bag Aluminium Food Trays – Red bag (please rinse).
